The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.

However the rest shakes out, Jackson at that price is a win they earned. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Every board in the league had McCarthy lower, and that gap is the story.

They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
