They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Giants' quarterback, full stop. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They are betting Harris proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They banked enough surplus on Latham to cover a lot of smaller sins.
The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get the arm they will build around at fair value.
They robbed the room for JC Latham here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid sticker price for Cooper Beebe in the 54th pick, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Christian Mahogany at pick No. 69 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Beau Brade at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Tre Harris in the 142nd overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ashton Gillotte slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 8 is lovely value for the edge rusher. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
