When a board-topper like KeAndre Lambert-Smith slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
Kelvin Banks Jr. at the Round 1 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It fills a real need, too.
Tyler Warren at pick No. 39 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Kaleb Johnson in the 41st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at the 72nd pick is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They did well to land Carson Schwesinger in pick 76, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value with a capital V on Brashard Smith in slot 148, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, KeAndre Lambert-Smith in No. 233, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jermari Harris at Round 7, Pick 24. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
