Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Keionte Scott got past him. The Rams do not have to explain a thing at the Round 3 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. If Moss pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Dillon Thieneman at pick 39 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy little value on Zachariah Branch in the 67th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Deontae Lawson at the Round 3 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board fumbled Keionte Scott all the way to Round 3, Pick 29, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They took Keylan Rutledge at par in the 112th pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 134 with a little surplus value in Oscar Delp. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Isaiah World in No. 152 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Thaddeus Dixon in pick No. 207; the board had better options right there. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They went early on Zavion Thomas in pick No. 208, and the value did not follow. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board had cheaper options than Miller Moss at slot 232, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Desmond Reid at Round 7, Pick 35 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Bryce Foster at pick 252 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
