The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: Antwaun Powell-Ryland, the No. 154 name on the board, sitting there at the 212th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.
They are betting Prather proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
Xavier Restrepo slid further than he should have, and the 61st overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 79 for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They paid sticker price for Raheim Sanders in the 146th pick, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
A wild overpay on Kaden Prather in slot 203, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They robbed the room for Antwaun Powell-Ryland here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
