Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Christian Jones. He came off 33 spots early, and the room will hear about it. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Burke steal is the beam this whole class leans on. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a blindside protector, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They went early on Kamren Kinchens in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They barely believed it either: Denzel Burke still on the board at slot 89. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tory Horton at pick No. 126 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaylan Ford at No. 174 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Somehow Michael Barrett was still sitting there in the 212th pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Christian Jones at the 247th pick, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
