You build a draft on nights like this. Ted Hurst had no business being available in the 114th overall pick, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Dennis-Sutton left real value on the table behind him. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Max Iheanachor at Round 2, Pick 15, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 59th pick is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Eli Stowers slipping to pick No. 68 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The roster fit checks out.
Dani Dennis-Sutton in slot 69 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They robbed the room for Christen Miller here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Ted Hurst in pick 114, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jalon Kilgore at the 116th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nothing to complain about; Bishop Fitzgerald went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
No edge and no loss on Isaiah World in pick 142; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Drew Allar a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
Marlin Klein in Round 6, Pick 3 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
