Call it larceny. Harold Perkins Jr. sat on the board until Round 7, Pick 7, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Patriots indulged a want in Campbell while a need in edge rusher and quarterback stayed open.
Bottom line, with Tre Harris leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.

R2.7
· Pick 39
· Jalon Walker
· LB

Jalon Walker at Round 2, Pick 7 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R2.23
· Pick 55
· Jihaad Campbell
· LB
· rank 40
A surprising call. With edge rusher and quarterback still to address, they spent the 55th pick on Jihaad Campbell, a linebacker they were not short of.
R3.6
· Pick 70
· Dylan Fairchild
· OG
· rank 56
Dylan Fairchild at slot 70 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.16
· Pick 80
· Deone Walker
· DT
· rank 70
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Deone Walker in the 80th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.22
· Pick 86
· Gunnar Helm
· TE
· rank 72
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Gunnar Helm at No. 86. The roster fit checks out.
R4.5
· Pick 106
· Dylan Sampson
· RB
· rank 43
Dylan Sampson in pick 106 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.8
· Pick 109
· Andrew Mukuba
· S
· rank 73
They barely believed it either: Andrew Mukuba still on the board at the Round 4 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.3
· Pick 141
· Jake Majors
· C
· rank 95
They robbed the room for Jake Majors here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.34
· Pick 172
· Smael Mondon Jr.
· LB
· rank 109
The board fumbled Smael Mondon Jr. all the way to the 172nd pick, and they scooped it up. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R6.1
· Pick 176
· Connor Colby
· OG
· rank 177
By-the-book stuff, Connor Colby at No. 176 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.7
· Pick 221
· Harold Perkins Jr.
· LB
· rank 128
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Harold Perkins Jr. in slot 221, plain and simple. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.21
· Pick 235
· Xavier Nwankpa
· S
· rank 195
Xavier Nwankpa at pick 235 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
