You could see the war room lean forward. Tyrone Tracy Jr. at Round 6, Pick 8 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Fair-plus on Tyler Nubin, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kiran Amegadjie in pick No. 70. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Andru Phillips was still sitting there in the 107th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They did well to land Tyler Davis in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 183 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
