The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Jamari Thrash, the No. 170 name on the board, sitting there at No. 195 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. A real need, handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kamari Lassiter in the 44th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kris Jenkins at Round 2, Pick 27 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nothing to complain about; Leonard Taylor III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in the 86th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Marist Liufau at No. 90 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Beau Brade in pick 111 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 112 with a little surplus value in Matt Goncalves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Ray Davis in No. 135; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

They took McCallan Castles at par in the 159th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
T.J. Sanders is a better player than pick No. 189 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 195 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
