The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Malachi Moore, Round 3, Pick 19, roughly 67 picks past where he belonged.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Campbell reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, even if it was a touch early.
They did well to land Tate Ratledge in pick 36, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Omarion Hampton in slot 68 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Malachi Moore in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Denzel Burke in the 94th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Jay Higgins at No. 105 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Deontae Lawson at pick No. 142 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Taking Parker Brailsford in the 168th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Antwane Wells Jr. at No. 220. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They read the board right and Brennan Presley was the payoff at slot 224. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They let Bryson Nesbit come to them and pounced at the 241st overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
