For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.
Marshall Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 19 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They did well to land Aeneas Peebles in slot 60, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jonah Monheim at No. 83 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Jacobee Bryant at Round 3, Pick 28 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
