You could see the war room lean forward. Dwight McGlothern at No. 233 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Adonai Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 24, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Worthy still on the board at slot 87. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Somehow Christian Jones was still sitting there in the 174th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 216 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Dwight McGlothern in the 233rd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Owens at pick 244 is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
