Seattle Seahawks

A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Seahawks never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They banked enough surplus on Lew to cover a lot of smaller sins. Reaching for Washington Jr. left real value on the table behind him.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Chris Johnson · CB · rank 32
In slot 32 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Mike Washington Jr. · RB · rank 75
Mike Washington Jr. in No. 64 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Connor Lew · C · rank 82
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 32, where Connor Lew graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
