Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals found their guy under center in Ewers: B-.

The search is over. The Cardinals handed the keys to Quinn Ewers, and the whole operation now runs on his development.

They are betting Monheim proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.8 · Pick 8 · Quinn Ewers · QB · rank 6
In slot 8 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · TJ Ferguson · OL · rank 84
A wild overpay on TJ Ferguson in pick 39, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Kenneth Grant · DL · rank 78
A reach on Kenneth Grant in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.5 · Pick 106 · Jonah Monheim · C · rank 159
Jonah Monheim at No. 106 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.4 · Pick 142 · Elic Ayomanor · WR · rank 136
They did well to land Elic Ayomanor in Round 5, Pick 4, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · PJ Williams · OT · rank 197
A big swing on PJ Williams at pick No. 178, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
