Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cardinals spent slot 153 on Karene Reid, a name the board had a full 37 spots lower. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th overall pick they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Derrick Harmon at Round 2, Pick 15 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Xavier Restrepo slipping to the Round 3 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Quinn Ewers in pick No. 114 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Karene Reid in No. 153 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
