Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chiefs shredded theirs for RJ Harvey. He came off 97 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Emmanwori where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on James Pearce Jr. at the 37th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
By-the-book stuff, Wyatt Milum at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A wild overpay on Danny Stutsman in No. 70, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Derrick Harmon in slot 96, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nick Emmanwori at pick No. 106 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor itch, scratched.
They jumped the gun on Mansoor Delane, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They reached into another round for Kaden Prather, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
RJ Harvey in pick 255 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
