The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Jaylen Wright, taking him 33 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Bullock. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They liked Jackson Powers-Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 41. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 57 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A tidy bit of business in the 58th overall pick, where Calen Bullock graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
McKinnley Jackson at the Round 3 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jaylen Wright at No. 125 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Christian Jones in the 203rd pick, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
J.J. Weaver in pick No. 217 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Demani Richardson well ahead of where he belonged. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
A reach for Dwight McGlothern in slot 246; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
