Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Buccaneers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
Stowers at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
They will need Elarms-Orr to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 15 they get an enforcer at safety at a price that makes it sweeter.
Eli Stowers at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
De'Zhaun Stribling in the 116th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached a country mile for Kaleb Elarms-Orr at pick 155, and the board is aghast. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 14, where DJ Campbell graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
TJ Hall at pick No. 229 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
