Nobody had Jaylen Wright this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 37 spots to get him at Round 4, Pick 24. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Value said wait; Jackson Powers-Johnson in Round 1, Pick 28 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
T'Vondre Sweat in the 56th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Cooper Beebe in the 87th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Khyree Jackson well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Wright in No. 124 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Malik Washington in pick 128, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A wild overpay on Michael Barrett in the Round 5 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
