The Packers went off the board in a big way for Isaac Rex, 68 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Getting Williams where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.9 · Pick 41 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 45
Xavier Worthy in the 41st pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · J.J. McCarthy · QB · rank 46
J.J. McCarthy at the Round 2 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 41
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Guyton at pick 57. The roster fit checks out.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Caelen Carson · CB · rank 67
They robbed the room for Caelen Carson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.20 · Pick 120 · Keith Randolph Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 150
Keith Randolph Jr. in Round 4, Pick 20 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 123
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Isaiah Adams in slot 135. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Marcus Harris · DL-EDGE · rank 228
Marcus Harris at pick 203 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Isaac Rex · TE · rank 285
Isaac Rex at pick No. 217 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Isaiah Williams · WR · rank 191
Circle this one: Isaiah Williams at slot 219 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.22 · Pick 242 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 231
Nathaniel Watson slid further than he should have, and the 242nd pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Donell Harris Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 256
Donell Harris Jr. at No. 246 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
