There is conviction, and then there is this. The Packers took Xavier Thomas a full 73 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
However the rest shakes out, Walley at that price is a win they earned. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a go-to option on the outside, though they paid up to get him.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Brenden Rice at Round 3, Pick 25 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board had cheaper options than Blake Fisher at pick No. 92, and it noticed. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Javion Cohen in the 125th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Dallin Holker at pick 135 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Xavier Thomas in No. 203, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Antwaun Powell-Ryland at the 217th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Justin Walley was still sitting there in No. 226, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 235 with a little surplus value in Jalen Green. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jalen Berger in pick 246 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
