This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kalel Mullings, the No. 113 name on the board, stolen at slot 226. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
Jackson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
The board fumbled Kenneth Grant all the way to slot 43, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Donovan Jackson this early at pick 56. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jared Wilson in Round 4, Pick 10. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Ozzy Trapilo at pick No. 129 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 140th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Kalel Mullings at the 226th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
