Start where it matters. The Cardinals took Quinn Ewers to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The cost of the Brailsford reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That Moss pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Parker Brailsford this early at slot 40. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached a country mile for Bear Alexander at the 72nd pick, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dasan McCullough in pick No. 104. A need, and now a little less of one.
Steal is underselling it; Wyatt Milum at the Round 5 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Dorian Strong at Round 6, Pick 8 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Miller Moss at pick 200 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
