Nobody else had Jordan Johnson anywhere near pick No. 243. The Packers did, by 50 spots, and that gap is the whole story. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

On value alone, Corum makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.9 · Pick 41 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 36
They did well to land Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Keon Coleman · WR · rank 44
By-the-book stuff, Keon Coleman at pick No. 44 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Chris Braswell · LB-EDGE · rank 57
Chris Braswell in pick 57 is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 65
Payton Wilson in No. 77 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 70
Brandon Dorlus at the 88th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 72
They barely believed it either: Blake Corum still on the board at Round 3, Pick 28. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 121
Darius Robinson at the Round 4 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · LaDarius Henderson · OT · rank 169
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on LaDarius Henderson. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Andrew Raym · C · rank 204
Andrew Raym at No. 203 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Austin Stogner · TE · rank 210
Austin Stogner in slot 216 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Jordan Johnson · WR · rank 293
Jordan Johnson at pick No. 243 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Jontrey Hunter · S · rank 237
Jontrey Hunter at the 251st pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
