Call it larceny. Jabbar Muhammad sat on the board until the 160th overall pick, and the Chiefs did not need to be asked twice. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a two-high chess piece, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Good price on Ajani Cornelius in No. 64, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Barion Brown at pick No. 69 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Ashton Gillotte at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
You do not let a tight end like Oscar Delp reach the 128th overall pick and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jabbar Muhammad at pick 160 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Tre Harris at slot 193 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Wyatt Milum in the 224th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
