Call it larceny. Keon Coleman sat on the board until slot 53, and the Texans did not need to be asked twice.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for All left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptive interior force, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board fumbled Keon Coleman all the way to No. 53, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 25, with Payton Wilson worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Max Melton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They will replay Blake Fisher at the 127th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Malik Mustapha in pick 158 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Erick All at slot 239 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Steal is underselling it; Xavier Restrepo at pick No. 242 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
