The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Nehemiah Pritchett, the 158th overall pick, roughly 26 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
Wilson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They reached into another round for Johnny Wilson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Payton Wilson at the 88th pick is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dominick Puni at Round 4, Pick 21 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Nothing to complain about; Kris Abrams-Draine went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nehemiah Pritchett in slot 158 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Good price on Blake Watson in the 239th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They went early on Erick All in pick 242, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
