When the story of this class is written, it opens with Storm Duck at No. 247, a reach of 38 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. On value alone, Turner makes the weekend a net positive.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a disruptor off the edge, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Johnny Wilson at No. 58 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Malachi Corley in slot 90. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Khyree Jackson in pick No. 123 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A conviction pick on Shemar Turner at the Round 4 slot that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They liked Ty'Ron Hopper enough to skip the value, taking him in the 163rd pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Blake Watson in the 239th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Storm Duck. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
