Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Cam Hart, the No. 124 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 158. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. The Robinson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; JT Tuimoloau at pick 53 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Malachi Corley at No. 88 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fair-plus on Junior Colson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jaden Hicks in slot 127 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
You do not let a cornerback like Cam Hart reach the 158th pick and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Phil Jurkovec in pick No. 239 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Erick All in the 242nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
