For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Dolphins walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Troy Fautanu. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Fair-plus on Adisa Isaac, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Xavier Thomas in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Cornelius Johnson at the 184th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Good price on Trente Jones in pick 198, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Dominique Hampton at pick No. 241 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
