The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Smael Mondon Jr., pick No. 207, roughly 97 picks past where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
The board fumbled Tyler Warren all the way to Round 2, Pick 29, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tre Harris in No. 79 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Carson Schwesinger was still sitting there in pick No. 148, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They will replay Smael Mondon Jr. at the 207th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
They barely believed it either: DJ Giddens still on the board at slot 238. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Andres Borregales in pick 250 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
