The Texans torched the value chart for Gabe Hall, taking him 49 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
On value alone, Pearsall makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Malachi Corley this early at the 49th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A conviction pick on Will Shipley at Round 3, Pick 29 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid a round early for Jaden Hicks in slot 117, more than the board wanted. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Value said wait; Payton Wilson in pick 126 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the 154th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.

Gabe Hall in pick No. 238 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
