The Chiefs' one glaring miss is quarterback, a need they left exactly as they found it. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Simpson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Kiran Amegadjie in the 64th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good price on Cole Bishop in Round 3, Pick 32, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Fair-plus on Tyrone Tracy Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
McKinnley Jackson at the 159th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy bit of business in No. 173, where Jaylin Simpson graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
