If confidence were a draft strategy, the Titans would have aced it. Isaiah Nwokobia at the 194th pick is 39 spots clear of where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Wagner. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Denzel Boston in the 35th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Jacob Rodriguez at par in pick No. 66, which is nothing to complain about. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Logan Jones is a better player than pick 101 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Hezekiah Masses in Round 5, Pick 2 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid up for Beau Stephens at No. 144 when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Aamil Wagner at Round 6, Pick 3. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Isaiah Nwokobia this early at No. 194. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They jumped the gun on Eli Heidenreich, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
