There is conviction, and then there is this. The Chiefs took Jaylon Carlies a full 49 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.
They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
So much rides on Kingsley Suamataia that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd overall pick they get a building block for the line, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
