Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jabbar Muhammad got past him. The Commanders do not have to explain a thing at the Round 6 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Reaching for McMillan left real value on the table behind him.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get a difference-maker at receiver, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Colston Loveland in the 36th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They barely believed it either: Kenneth Grant still on the board at Round 3, Pick 4. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Emery Jones Jr. at pick 100 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They robbed the room for J. Michael Sturdivant here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Sonny Styles at the 164th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
The board fumbled Jabbar Muhammad all the way to the Round 6 slot, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
