There is reaching, and then there is Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 108. The Broncos jumped the board by 25 and dared it to prove them wrong. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Heidenreich that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
They read the board right and Eli Stowers was the payoff at the 62nd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 108 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kaleb Proctor in No. 111 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 30, with Demond Claiborne worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reach on Logan Taylor in pick 246; the board had better options right there. It fills a real need, too.
Tristan Leigh in pick No. 256 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Eli Heidenreich slid further than he should have, and the 257th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. The roster fit checks out.
