The rest of the league will want that one back. Tommy Eichenberg tumbling to the Cowboys in pick No. 174 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

In slot 24 they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jonathon Brooks slipping to the 58th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

Malik Washington in the Round 3 slot is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

You do not let a linebacker like Tommy Eichenberg reach pick 174 and blink. They did not. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
