Whoever sat across the table from the Steelers should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
The Stukes steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The cost of the World reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots went begging. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. More want than need.
In No. 29 they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid up for Germie Bernard at Round 2, Pick 21 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Treydan Stukes here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A surprising call. With quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still to address, they spent pick No. 121 on Isaiah World, an offensive lineman they were not short of.
A straight-up fair deal on Harold Perkins Jr. at the 135th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Value with a capital V on Tim Keenan III in Round 5, Pick 21, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
VJ Payne in No. 204 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Jeff Caldwell at pick 216 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
They liked Kaden Wetjen enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 224. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Robert Spears-Jennings in slot 230; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zavion Thomas at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
