When a board-topper like Demetrius Knight Jr. slides to the 148th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Commanders did not.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 29 they get a No. 1 receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A tight end of that caliber at the 61st pick is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Alfred Collins at slot 79 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
