The rest of the league will want that one back. Ricky Pearsall tumbling to the Packers in pick No. 236 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Isaac left real value on the table behind him. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · JC Latham · OT · rank 15
In pick No. 11 they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 43
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Tampa at slot 39, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.11 · Pick 43 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 46
No drama and no debate, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went about where he belonged in pick 43. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Adisa Isaac · DE-EDGE · rank 97
They talked themselves into Adisa Isaac at Round 3, Pick 13, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.24 · Pick 87 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 84
TreVeyon Henderson in the 87th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Max Melton · CB · rank 118
Max Melton at the Round 4 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R4.23 · Pick 123 · Tykee Smith · S · rank 127
Tykee Smith in No. 123 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · Shemar Turner · DL-EDGE · rank 134
No edge and no loss on Shemar Turner in the 135th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.14 · Pick 189 · Oronde Gadsden II · TE · rank 202
They liked Oronde Gadsden II enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 189. The roster fit checks out.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Ali Jennings · WR · rank 188
Ali Jennings at the Round 6 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Darius Muasau · LB · rank 216
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 44 with a little surplus value in Darius Muasau. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 242
The board had cheaper options than Jordan Jefferson at slot 232, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.16 · Pick 236 · Ricky Pearsall · WR · rank 200
Ricky Pearsall in pick 236 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
