The rest of the league will want that one back. Bhayshul Tuten tumbling to the Commanders in pick No. 236 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
If Williams pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get juice off the edge, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Donovan Jackson in No. 61 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A clean, defensible pick in the 79th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jayden Higgins. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Sebastian Castro still on the board at the 146th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A conviction pick on Jonah Monheim at slot 203 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They robbed the room for Bhayshul Tuten here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Gentry Williams at pick 247, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
