The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Germie Bernard, slot 85, roughly 27 picks past where he belonged.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will answer for taking offensive lineman early while quarterback, edge rusher and other spots went begging. They will need World to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. More want than need.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in slot 53 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 76 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Germie Bernard at Round 3, Pick 21 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Domonique Orange in the 99th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Circle this one: Treydan Stukes at No. 121 is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose offensive lineman. Isaiah World in pick No. 135 leaves quarterback, edge rusher and other spots for later.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in the 161st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No drama and no debate, Jadon Canady went about where he belonged in pick 216. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jeremiah Wright at the 224th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jimmy Rolder in Round 7, Pick 14. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A slide stopped in pick No. 237, with Jaren Kanak worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
