The Bears spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Treydan Stukes, the No. 96 name on the board, in No. 119.
The cost of the Trost reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Zion Young in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, A.J. Haulcy at pick 57. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jake Slaughter at the 62nd pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Jacob Rodriguez at pick No. 69 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
