Everything else got attention, and quarterback got none. That is a strange way for the Packers to leave a draft. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The Mims value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If Zinter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Amarius Mims, who had no business lasting to No. 37. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
T'Vondre Sweat in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Jonathon Brooks at the 43rd pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
T.J. Tampa slid further than he should have, and pick No. 58 is lovely value for the cornerback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They liked Zak Zinter enough to skip the value, taking him in the 91st overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
