The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Thomas Jr..
Chestnut has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value.
The board had Graham Barton higher than Round 2, Pick 6, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Chris Braswell at par in slot 47, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Brian Thomas Jr. in the 70th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A slide stopped in pick 106, with Zak Zinter worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They went early on Devin Neal in pick No. 143, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Duce Chestnut in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
