The Giants looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Spencer Rattler at the 52nd overall pick regardless, 66 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Landing Johnson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. The Giants paired the rookies with proven help, Marcus Davenport leading the way.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Spencer Rattler at pick 52 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Christian Mahogany at the 73rd overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They took Calen Bullock at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let MarShawn Lloyd come to them and pounced at pick No. 107. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
