You could see the war room lean forward. Nate Wiggins at slot 47 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Every board in the league had Logan Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Bo Nix at the 39th pick is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Nate Wiggins at slot 47 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They paid up for Malachi Corley at pick 70 when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They went early on Mohamed Kamara in the 107th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It fills a real need, too.
Blake Fisher in Round 4, Pick 29 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nehemiah Pritchett in No. 143 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
No drama and no debate, Layden Robinson went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kenny Logan Jr. at slot 185 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
