They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Giants' quarterback, full stop. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
If Colby pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 5 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
Keon Coleman at the 37th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 22 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Landon Jackson at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It fills a real need, too.
Beau Brade at pick 105 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Connor Colby at pick No. 142 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
No drama and no debate, Moose Muhammad III went about where he belonged in the 183rd overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
